Yesterday

Oil on canvas, yarn, sealed burlap, goldleaf, vinyl, diary confetti

I made this painting along with another of similar size entitled "Today" They each sold to different parties, so they are separate now. At the time I had worked a temporary job in visual merchandising for Atlanta's "Saks 5th Ave"....which included working with wigs in the manner of the hair on this figure. I decided to paint a woman with this kind of hairstyle in clothing sort of from a bygone era. The 'window' in the lower dress area contains among other things scraps from my diary, nothing legible. Her raised hand holds an old key supposedly to the lock of the diary being held by her purse conveniently shaped like a hand.
