"Difficult Women" (first four of the series)
This first picture is a group shot of the first four paintings in the LiShinault "Difficult Women" series.
LiShinault's ongoing series of art in various media in regard to graceful empowerment featuring those who create other ways to get by when they have lost something invaluable.
The “Difficult Women” theme is symbolic of a person relying on inner strength to replace major loss ‘seemingly’ equal to losing a limb. My widowed mother was an example of a person like this. Her husband’s untimely death was a loss that she had to overcome with inner strength and help from friends. The gloved hands, to me represent a source of help, love, and inner strength to rise above tragedy. They are used throughout my art.
