Painting veils is something I love doing. Sometimes the veil is the main subject, as in this piece. It started as part of a longer stretch of canvas, but I cut it apart to showcase portions of the veil more directly. This and others are a break from my past veil work which features a black background with a white veil fluttering across. I decided to go the opposite route and brighten up with a pale sky blue background with a small shower of silver raindrops that glisten in the light. As I child, I used to lay in bed admiring the veil-like curtains nearby, which in a way seemed to whisper to me. Hence, the title…”Whisper”.
